Your self care tonic menu 7

Welcome to EMBODY week 7

This week’s Self Care Tonic Menu is here to inspire you with simple ideas across healthy habits, nutrition, hair/ body care and wellness routines. Think of it as your guide to creating a holistic approach to wellness—a way to recharge, reconnect, and embody your highest self.

Taking care of yourself isn’t just about physical fitness—it’s about nurturing your emotional, spiritual, energetic and mental well-being too. Feeling your best comes from creating small moments throughout your day that align with what makes you feel good.

These rituals work together to help you thrive so you can create your best self.

Here are the detailed steps for this week’s Self Care Tonic rituals:

🧑‍🍳 Mindful Cooking

Mindful cooking transforms meal preparation into a relaxing and grounding experience, connecting you to the ingredients and the act of nourishing your body. It helps reduce stress, improve focus, and deepen your appreciation for food. Above all, it is great for digestion as your digestive enzymes are stimulated. Your digestion will be improved from this simple mindfulness.

How to:

  1. Choose a simple, wholesome recipe with fresh ingredients.

  2. Clear your space and set the mood with music or silence to focus on the process.

  3. Pay attention to every step:

    • Notice the colours, textures, and smells of your ingredients.

    • Feel the motion of chopping, stirring, and plating.

  4. Avoid distractions like your phone, and let cooking be a meditative and enjoyable activity.

🍫 Cacao Ceremony

A cacao ceremony is an ancient ritual that promotes heart-opening, mindfulness, and a sense of grounding. The natural compounds in cacao boost mood, focus, and feelings of connection.

How to:

  1. Prepare a ceremonial-grade cacao drink:

    • Mix 1 tablespoon of raw cacao powder or paste with hot water or plant-based milk.

    • Sweeten lightly with honey or maple syrup if desired.

  2. Sit in a peaceful environment and set an intention (e.g., gratitude, clarity, or self-love).

  3. Sip slowly and mindfully, focusing on the warmth and richness of the cacao.

  4. Reflect on your intention as you finish your drink, allowing yourself to feel present and centered.

🌱 Grounding on Earth

Grounding, also known as earthing, reconnects you to the earth’s natural energy. It reduces inflammation, improves sleep, and restores balance to your mind and body.

How to:

  1. Find a patch of grass, sand, or soil.

  2. Remove your shoes and let your bare feet connect directly with the earth.

  3. Stand, sit, or lie down, focusing on the sensation of the ground beneath you.

  4. Take slow, deep breaths as you visualise releasing tension into the earth and absorbing its calming energy.

😴 Castor Oil Pack

Castor oil packs support liver detoxification, improve digestion, reduce inflammation, and promote relaxation by stimulating the lymphatic system.

How to:

  1. Soak a piece of organic cotton or flannel cloth in cold-pressed castor oil (hexane free)

  2. Place the cloth over your abdomen, focusing on your liver area (right side under the ribcage).

  3. Place a heating pad or hot water bottle on top.

  4. Relax and lie down for 30 minutes while reading, meditating, or listening to calming music.

  5. When finished, wipe off any excess oil with a warm, damp cloth.
